Journaling Life Goals - 7 Reasons to Keep a Journal

Journaling life goals is a powerful way to help you accomplish your purpose in life. It is a way for you to capture your dreams and ideas and information that pertains to your destiny. Here are 7 reasons you will want to keep a journal:

1. It helps you clarify and solve problems. Let's say for example, that some nights when you get home from work you feel extremely tired. Due to your diligent journaling, you make the discovery that the tiredness is caused by low blood sugar due to you skipping lunch on the days that you travel out of town. You solve the problem by packing a lunch.

2. Journaling is a way to keep your ideas and dreams alive until you can put them in motion. You may wake up in the middle of the night with a brilliant idea on how to earn extra money from home. Thankfully you have your journal on the nightstand so you can write down your money making idea. Many great ideas are lost because they were never written down.

3. It is a great way to help you discover your God-given destiny. What desires do you have on the inside of you? What talents do you have? What are your goals? What does your dream life look like? Write these things down and read through them regularly. You will see certain patterns emerge and it will give you insight into your calling.

4. By writing and consistently reading your journals, you keep solutions to problems in front of you. A few years ago I had been having a lot of headaches and I found out that if I took 400 mg. of magnesium every day, I no longer had issues with headaches. But, for some reason I quit taking the magnesium and I started having headaches again. I read through my journals and saw how I solved that problem in the past and now since taking the magnesium again, the headaches have disappeared.

5. It helps you remember important information. As you read books and listen to CDs you will learn things that can help you succeed in your life but the fact is, we only hold on to about 20% of what we read. Writing this information down and reading through it regularly will insure that you can retain and benefit from what you learned.

6. It helps you organize your thoughts and clear your mind. For example you may have an idea of how you want to decorate your house in a green and yellow leaf theme and because you don't want to forget your great idea, you keep mulling it over in your head. If you write your ideas in a journal, you can come back to them later. This will free your mind to focus on other things.

7. Journal writing will help you express yourself when an opportunity arises. If you have written about a particular subject in your journal, it will be a lot easier to comment about it intelligently. So whether you are writing a letter to your sister or participating in a church Bible study, you will be able to share your insights in an well thought-out manner.

Journal writing is an essential component to success but it will only work if you are committed to writing and reading through your journals regularly. Start journaling today and watch as your life is transformed.
